In the early stages, the pain in my lower back was minor, but as time went on, it became very uncomfortable. I finally had an MRI conducted only to discover Spinal Stenosis in my lower spine. My primary physician recommended I see Jessica and expressed a lot of confidence in how she served his other patients.
Right from the start, I recognized this was different in a very good way. The first step was taking measurements to assess how well I could move my body to get a baseline. Quickly, she discovered that my posture was not very good and the way I was sitting at my desk, working on my computer could be a big source of the pain. Further my love for the game of golf was also really exacerbating the problem. Then over the course of several months I received weekly physical therapy. I always departed form my sessions feeling much better with new hope. The real work was between sessions as I began to build a regular daily routine of exercises to strengthen the areas that were determined to be the underlying causes. To make it easy to remember, she recorded herself doing these exercises so I could quickly review them, to make sure I was maintaining good posture and practice.
Slowly but surely the pain was going away. Then much to my surprise I learned that my eating habits and lack of water intake were contributing to the condition. I received some nutritional coaching from Jessica, and a thorough and thoughtful review of the functional medicine my physician was recommending and putting it all together.
After a year or two and a lot of patience, the pain started going away. She helped me discover the best ongoing exercise for my condition was swimming which is not something I had ever done other than just for fun. Now it is what helps me maintain my sanity.
The bottom line, I see 3 significant improvements in my life:
I would be glad to have a conversation with anyone who wants to learn more about what it was like to work with Jess. Just check with her for my contact info.
I recently saw a friend who immediately said to me, I have tears in my eyes for how light and healthy you feel. I know, I said, I’ve been doing hard work. It’s not hard in a way that feels like drudgery but changing old lifestyle habits is not easy. I feel more healthy and more motivated than I can remember. My husband and family notice the difference too. Before beginning this program I had 20+ years of severe insomnia, thyroid disease with a strong family history of thyroid and other cancers, poor energy, constipation, and the inner knowing that my digestive system was in trouble. I felt I was aging quickly while leading a very sedentary life.
Working with Jess, who is knowledgeable and thorough in her approach, changes start happening. I am now hydrated, I have a solid sleep plan that is moving in a positive direction, my food choices have become cleaner and more healthy. Slow and steady weight loss has been a wonderful benefit of the program though not the reason I began this work. And I am walking and have joined a wonderful yoga studio.
With so much gratitude and appreciation for her guidance and gentle teaching methods, Jess and the Full Circle Wellness Transformation Program has been life-changing for me. If anyone questions the value of this Program, I give my permission for Jess to provide you with my contact information upon request.
Jess has changed my life for the better in more ways than one. I suffered from bloating, stomach aches after meals, headaches, fatigue and being unable to shake some weight. I hadn’t realized that your gut is 80% of your body, until I did some research. I then realized I needed someone like Jess in my life. She is absolutely amazing! Jess is passionate, enthusiastic, and super intelligent when it comes to the functional world. She looked at my GI Map and lab work and without a question knew what was wrong with me. She sent me to an endocrinologist where I was then diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease. It rocked my world when I found this out. Yet Jess called this before I had seen anyone too (she’s just that good) and assured me we would get this under control. I started the supplements I needed to help rebuild my gut. She recommended a great book to help further educate me. Within a week I could see a difference. The bloating was going away! The fatigue was gone. My head felt clear, and the headaches seemed to have disappeared. I started to shed some of the weight I was holding on to. Happy is an understatement for how I felt. Jess takes the time to educate you on what is going on with your body. Helps you understand what is happening, why we take certain supplements or eat certain foods to help us get back on track, and what the foreseeable future will look like for you. She has this way about her that makes you feel like everything is going to be ok! And it is!!
I started working with Jess in June and by September I felt unbelievably better! I had a diagnosis and working so closely with Jess I felt so confident that I was going to get my life back on track and feeling good. This has been such a great experience for me, that I can’t stop telling people about Jess and my experience. I want to educate everyone who is willing to listen because this is your body, your life. It is so important to feel good and like yourself again. This is the best gift you can give yourself, and Jess is a huge part of it. I have been telling people to run, don’t walk to call her and make an appointment. I did the Full Circle Health Transformation Program and I feel like everyone should!
If anyone has questions for me, Jess can fully release my information. I love talking to people about my great experience. It is life changing for the better 🙂
Working with Jess has been not only a joy, but a godsend. I’ve worked with functional medicine doctors in the past, but I was always missing the collaborative coaching relationship that helped me work through challenges as they came up. She’s insanely knowledgeable and works to educate her clients in a way that is easy to understand. Before working with her, I struggled with a lot of GI issues. She helped me identify foods I was eating that were causing me intolerances, gave me ideas on how to eliminate them without feeling like I was suffering, and reintroduced them after giving my system time to heal through time and supplements. I can now eat foods easily that used to give me problems in the past! I highly recommend Jess and The Full Circle Health Transformation Program.
I have had such a wonderful experience working with Jess, and I cherish her opinion. It means a lot to me. Jessica is an outstanding healer because she is an avid believer in holistic medicine and her clients’ ability to heal. Her holistic approach focuses on the client. Her techniques are eclectic and functional, borrowing from western and eastern approaches and includes exercise, diet, lifestyle and where necessary, supplements. She also will collaborate closely with your primary care physician.
Jessica McManus came into my life only three short and painful years ago at the recommendation of my primary care physician. What began for me as a seemingly minor exercise injury had attacked and was in the process of a full takeover of my neuromuscular system. Every joint seemed inflamed and the associated pain debilitating. I had no clear diagnosis except for an x-ray showing evidence of autoimmune arthritis. I seemed headed for ending life on high doses of medication and a steady decline in mobility. The process with Jessica took time and some trial and error to locate the primary causes of the problem. Therapy included foot and muscle massage, exercise and dietary changes. Most significantly, all this was wrapped in a therapeutic dyad that led to a healing outcome. For me this meant the desire to be active beyond ambulatory and for Jessica the confidence that this was a reachable outcome: a self-fulfilling prophecy with Jessica as coach.
It worked! The reversal for me has been painful and required diligence and confidence. I am now off pills almost exclusively. I exercise routinely, walk, garden and build things without pain. My overall feeling of wellbeing is great and I look forward to my remaining years with more grace, strength and purpose. Emphatically, I add, however, this is not a voodoo or magic pill process and will not offer you eternity. But in my case, it has indeed offered me a new view on aging, a healthier body and mind. I say get off the couch and go for it! I am happy to chat with anyone who is seriously considering seeking out Jessica. I am a benefactor of her knowledge and commitment and, as a psychologist committed to healing, I am happy to provide you with my experience as one of her clients. Jessica has my permission to provide me your contact information upon your request.
Full Circle Physical Therapy is the best Physical Therapy practice I have ever experienced. Jessica incorporates your doctor’s findings but also thoroughly listens to you and your needs. She creates a “whole body” picture of what exercises and therapy will best help achieve your path to optimal healing.
I saw Jess for vertigo after seeing 3 medical professionals who could not seem to help me. After 2 visits I was on my way to 100%. She is very knowledgeable and thorough. She is excellent in explaining her therapy and offers the wellness side of things which is wonderful.
